Hussain Ali Lootah, the CEO of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), which owns several local media brands including Dubai TV, has just been appointed as the chairman of Khaleej Times. Lootah is also on the board of the UAE Media Council.
As executive chairman, and earlier CEO of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) between 1997 and 2002, Lootah is widely credited with introducing innovative retail initiatives, and bringing about greater collaboration between the government and private sectors. He was also a former deputy director-general of Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
Lootah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the US, and started his career as head of Business Services at the Department of Economic Development, Dubai in 1992.
