The Abu Dhabi Media Co (ADMC) plans to launch local spin-offs of two US-based businesses it has invested in, as the emirate looks to create Arabic digital content to export around the region, the FT has reported. Vevo Arabia, a regional version of the music video website launched late last year by Universal Music, Sony Music and EMI with support from Google’s YouTube video service, will be launched by early 2011, Ed Borgerding, chief executive of ADMC, which has a 10% stake in Vevo, said.
